Marju Männik was born in Jõgeva and, after finishing theatre studies, found her way to the world of baking. She got her first experience as a pâtissière at the Bakery of Heidi Park and the career continued at cafe Rukis and restaurant Farm.
At this time, Marju Männik received a reputable prize. Her cloudberry-cream cheese cake with rye bread and cumin liqueur was chosen to represent Estonia’s 100th independence day and was served at the presidential reception.
